The L.A. Pincus Fund for Jewish Education in the Diaspora

General Policies

The Pincus Fund provides allocations for up to 50% of the approved budget for a project. The Fund supports most projects for 2 years. Successful projects usually can apply for an extension which may provide one additional year of funding. Allocations generally are reduced from year to year.

The Fund does not finance regular budgets or deficits of existing institutions or of on-going programs. The Fund will not finance overhead expenses, and will not approve retroactive allocations. The Fund does not finance building projects.

Applicants must demonstrate other financing (primarily local) for at least 50% of the cost of their project. Applicants must list all sources of income on their application, and should indicate how they plan to continue the project after completion of the Fund's support.

The Fund makes payments retroactively, after receipt of satisfactory progress and financial reports.

The timetable for completed applications is strictly enforced.
