Project aims and objectives
To create a textbook which will raise awareness of Jewish Culture and Jewish History, and assist in the organization of educational trips
Project Description
TARGET GROUP:
School principals, teachers, parents, leaders of youth organizations, and developers of intellectual tourism
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM:
The project is creating a textbook about organizing Jewish educational trips. The book is intended for school principals, teachers, parents, and leaders of youth organizations. It will be developed by a team of three educational experts, who can draw upon their experience conducting educational trips. The book will include the following chapters: The special character of educational trips; choosing the subject for the trip; selecting participants; preparing for the trip; the trip itself; and assessing the results of the trip. The book will incorporate the applicant's experience conducting educational trips to Jewish sites in Eastern Europe; in Spain and Portugal; in Morocco; and in Istanbul.
The project team includes a Jewish History teacher who holds a Ph.D. and has taught at the Techiya School #1311 in Moscow for 13 years. One team member is a Methodologist, with 21 years experience. The third team member is a specialist on the History of the State of Israel, with 10 years teaching experience; she lectures at Russian State University of Humanities and also manages academic projects for Russian Friends of the Hebrew University.
The book will be made available to all Jewish schools and institutions. 100 copies will be circulated to Jewish schools, Jewish cultural centers, and other bodies working with Jewish youth. 50 copies will be distributed in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and 50 copies will be distributed in other regions.
NECESSARY RESOURCES:
The project team is drawing on their wide range of expertise and personal experience conducting educational trips to Jewish sites.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION?
The project team writing the book is comprised of a Jewish History teacher, a Methodologist, and an expert on the History of the State of Israel.
